Tell us about your character and their history:
“Shrouded in dark couture, a former Lordaeron noble that dwells in shadow magic and undeath...”
Appearance
A bizarre, strangely beautiful figure that at first glance appears to be a very odd, thin woman, with a skin in paper shade of pale, clad in morbid, expensive dark clothing. Lady Medulla doesn’t appear nearly as decayed as many Forsaken do, maybe due to the extensive maintenance that she employs over her physical body and obsession with appearance. Inside of her eye sockets, there are two sapphire beads, and her nails are long, sharp and polished in black lustre. Her hair changes too often to be anything other than a collection of wigs.
Abilities
When Lady Medulla wields shadow magic, her physicality changes to a more malleable form that bends with shadows themselves, allowing abilities such as being able to drastically change her facial expression to be monster-like or being in constant levitation. She usually stays too often in varying intensities of Shadowform and is very vulnerable to any direct, magical or not, source of light, such as noon’s sunlight - this is the reason that she’s often seen with a number of parasols. She is a very manipulative individual and her offensive magic reflects on that trait, inducing her foes to insanity and rendering them vulnerable to suggestion such as turning on their allies or jumping to certain death off a big height.
History
Dame Agatha Jean Howart dates back from the glorious days of Lordaeron, as the matriarch of a wealthy family which most of the fortune came from cattle farms on what is now the Western Plaguelands. In secrecy, she was a practitioner of necromancy, and her obsession with her appearance made her go towards a number of lengths involving dark rituals to achieve a fabled eternal youth, such as bathing herself during five consecutive days on fresh human blood.
Her house eventually fell during the Scourge raid on the country and before she would be the victim of the hulking abomination leading the invasion on her manor, Agatha committed suicide by slashing her own throat with a letter opener - this wasn’t enough to prevent the Scourge plague to infect her own death bed. Due to her magical affinity with shadow and necromancy, Dame Howart served the Scourge as an undead mage for until the time that the Forsaken people was liberated by Sylvanas.
As the time went by, she grew fond of her undeath condition and started to grasp the advantages that it represented over the living beings. She rediscovered the remains of her former manor and many of the hidden wealth that wasn’t pillaged by adventurers or the Scourge themselves in the previous months. Although she abandoned her former home, she adopted the name of Lady Medulla and lives on a moderate wealthy comfort, serving Undercity as a cultural counselor for the Forsaken, dealing with things such as art, archaeology and magical relics.
How well versed are you in Warcraft lore:
I've been a fan ever since Warcraft 2 days, and I read on a lot of lore ever since. I love Forsaken as a race and their lore.
Do you know much about apothecary RP (Don't be afraid to tell us no! We aren't looking for people that know everything after all. Learning about it is fun too!) :
Just the basic knowledge, I guess... Not very extensive since any of my Forsaken characters ever been one.
What resources have you used to learn more about lore/RP:
The wowpedia and wowwiki and occasional read on the RPG book (though they aren't canon as it seems).
GENERAL
What is your character's name? (List your actual in game name as well so we can find you! ;D ):
Medulla
What class and level is your character:
100
What other guilds have you been in:
Twin Mask Ensemble (alliance) and Full Moon Inn (horde)
You
How did you hear about us:
Moonguard battle.net forums
Why do you want to join TLoV:
Because it's a Forsaken guild. I'm kind of tired of seeing only Orc or BElf guilds around and so few of others... Not that I think they are bad or anything, but Forsaken is the best horde race, and my preference.
How active are you:
Seldom on weekdays (maybe one hour before bed), way more active on weekends. This is due my job leaving me too tired to play during the week.
What do you think it means to be part of a guild:
MMOs are all about social interaction. Being part of the guild makes you enjoy that big facet of the game, even more when it's about RPing, because there, you can create an unlimited amount of content to play with, especially while wait for a new expansion.
Optional Bonus Questions
Give a brief history of the Forsaken:
A country that succumbed to a invasion of the undead Scourge led by Arthas. People that died usually forcibly rose up as undead to fight alongside the tainted prince. After a serie of events that rendered Arthas weak, one of his victims, Sylvanas Windrunner, a famous High Elven ranger - turned banshee, managed to reclaim her former body and liberate many of the Lordaeron people from the grasp of the Lich King - taking Lordaeron back from the Dreadlords associated with the Scourge's origins. This was where the Forsaken history began and how one of the Windrunner sisters became their leader.
How do you include the biology of undeath into your RP:
Medulla is a undead that went through a series of alchemical and necromantical procedures to appear as young as possible, in the opposite of her aging living persona. Being undead allowed her to do these body modifications without the usual injury associated to such methods in a normal human.
Give a history of the Forsaken plague and the events in Northrend:
Sylvanas took personally a comitive to Northrend to finally take offensive on Arthas - unfortunately she was betrayed by Putress of the Royal Apothecary Society and Varimathras, a Dreadlord that was still loyal to the Burning Legion. Both took Undercity in a coup d'état and Putress' offensive strike with a Forsaken-made plague in Northrend made tensions between horde and alliance rise again. This series of events was terrible for the whole trust of the Horde towards the Forsaken for a long time, even though Sylvanas managed to prove that the undead loyal to her had nothing to do with the Wrathgate incident.
How has your character accepted the changes made in the Horde after Pandaria was found?
She remained loyal to Sylvanas - she already loathed Orcish more... rustic ways of living and the whole Orgrimmar setting. Although she never took part in the capital's raid, she used some of her money to gear up a small Forsaken party with many enchanted, powerful items from the Undercity's auction house. Sadly, even with them having such good gear, they lacked skill and the party was quickly obliterated at the gates.
What about Draenor? Has your character ventured through the portal?
No, she never took part in those events, though again, she sent a small party to find Draenic relics that were completely destroyed on the original Outlands. The Forsaken trio were pretty much unskilled with the gear they had and died shortly after the portal's crossing.
How does your undead feel about the changes within the Horde and the new warchief?
Anything is better than Garrosh, honestly. She's way more sympathetic to the new leader, but she thinks that he's simply not cunning enough to lead the faction.
Which do you think is more awesome? Dinosaurs or Dragons?
Dragons.
