Hello!
Role Playing
Tell us about your character and their history:
Petranilla was born a high elf in Quel'thalas, living in Silvermoon for most of her life. She belonged to a lower class family of bakers, and so didn't have many skills to defend herself when the Scourge came to wreck everything. She was risen as a pawn of the Lich King and, of course, set free by Sylvanas among the other Forsaken. Out of hatred for herself, she chose the name Petranilla Isera'duna. A putrid green-skin. With undeath came the dull ebb and flow of depression and regret. She often found herself returning to Silvermoon a few years after the invasion to try and help rebuild her old city and prove to not be as useless in death. Unfortunately, rotting flesh does not make for a warm welcome in an elven city. She still returns for occassional visits, but mainly keeps to herself in the Undercity and tinkers with potions and poisons.
After the discovery of Pandaria and contact/alliances were established, Petra was convinced by a visiting Pandaren that she would be able to find peace in the valleys and mountains of the distant land, and so set off on a journey to Kun-Lai Summit. This was all RPed out and I don't want to bore anyone with the details- in short, this was her introduction to training as a monk. Her skills are adept at best (since Pandaria hasn't been around long enough for her to become a master or anything like that). With what knowledge she's learned on the Summit and the struggles of generating chi, she has begun to develop a fighting style in which she can draw chi from the life energies of other things. She believes that this energy is what makes up the universe, kind of like the cosmic "glue" that keeps everything together.
Petranilla is currently setting out to work on her alchemical skills, to create potions and brews to harness the chi of others for her use in fighting. She also makes a visit to Orgrimmar every other month to further her combat skills as a monk. I have not yet involved her in any storyline involving Warlords of Draenor.
Personality wise.. Petra, like most of her Forsaken brethren, has spent most of her existence suffering from a dull depression. She struggles with being useless, worthless to any cause. This causes her to become introverted at times. After her storyline in Mists, she's developed a sense of purpose after setting off on this mission to harness chi energy. She doesn't take failure very well, her mood often lowering after a failed potion or unproductive training session. Despite this, her dulled emotions and time spent with the Pandaren have allowed her to keep calm in most situations, or at least in front of others.
In-game, she used to be a rogue, but I decided to re-roll her as a monk when Mists came along to progress her storyline. I have my personal lore ideas on how she fights as an undead monk (and am always happy to share!). A lot of it ties closely to themes in the Cult of Forgotten Shadows.
How well versed are you in Warcraft lore:
Pretty well read. My memory can be spotty and I just got back from a year break from WoW RP so I need to re-read some things. I love obscure lore that no one cares about.
Do you know much about apothecary RP:
"You put the thing in a thing and that's how you make the thing???"
....Very little.
What resources have you used to learn more about lore/RP:
The game, the novels, forums, RP guides, wikis, other people's writing. RP itself, I've learned from past mistakes over the years... still learning to this day. The suffering never ends.
General
What is your character's name?
Petranilla Isera'duna (in-game: Petranilla)
Or just Petra for short.
What class and level is your character:
Monk, 92 (or higher if I level up while the application waits)
What other guilds have you been in:
None on Moon Guard, but considering putting a different character in the Sunguard guild.
You
How did you hear about us:
Tumblr
Why do you want to join TLoV:
Forsaken RP lacks on every other server. This is like finding an oasis in Tol'vir.
How active are you:
Very. I try to be on at least once a day for dailies, if not a few days a week.
What do you think it means to be part of a guild:
Brotherhood!
But really, it's good to find one's niche in a community. What's the fun in an MMO if you can't make friends and help each other out?
Optional Bonus Questions
Give a brief history of the Forsaken:
Lich King went "NYEH" and Arthas was like "NOOOOO-", Lordaeron and the Highborne got wrecked to hell. Sylvanas was all "UM, NO" and the Lich King was all "LMAO", but she broke free anyway and kicked ass. The other undead flipped off the Lich King and ran off with Sylvanas to make their own city. And now they plague all the things. I'm fairly certain that this is an accurate depiction of the events that went down.
How do you include the biology of undeath into your RP:
Rotting is not a fun situation. Petra constantly keeps herbs on herself to repel the smells and insists on wearing robes that aren't torn and rotting. She uses bandages to keep her muscles together from the impacts of hand-to-hand combat. I abide to the belief that undeath has dulled down their emotions, but Forsaken are still individuals. They all linger on the edge of insanity in their own ways, but not all of them have to be crazed emotionless psychopaths.
Give a history of the Forsaken plague and the events in Northrend:
Oh man.. after making my first DK, I've kind of skipped Northrend quests in favor of dungons. So I'll try my best:
So, the Forsaken made a huge breakthrough to create a plague that killed the Scourge. Sylvanas immediately decided to use this to her advantage to defeat the Lich King. Cue the grueling Howling Fjord quests. Putress double-crossed everyone, trying to defeat the Lich King, Horde, and Alliance all at the same time using this demolishing plague. Like every master villanous scheme, this didn't really work out. The Forsaken ended up with a slap on the wrist and a ban on the plague.
How has your character accepted the changes made in the Horde after Pandaria was found?
She's become a monk!
What about Draenor? Has your character ventured through the portal?
No.
How does your undead feel about the changes within the Horde and the new warchief?
She didn't dabble much in politics until she hung around the Pandaren and heard things about their split between the two factions. She's glad Garrosh is gone, since he didn't care for the Forsaken.
Which do you think is more awesome? Dinosaurs or Dragons?
