Hello everyone, I recently took over as the High Executor. I hope we can have a lot of fun together. Below I have rehashed the rules and ranks and added some stuff that I hope will be fun for everyone! If you have any questions, comments, or if you just need a little clarification feel free to contact me ingame or send me a P.M. via the guild site!
How to start being a Deathguard:
If your in character interview was not conducted by a Deathguard Officer then at your earliest convenience please talk to a (in character) Deathguard officer to receive a Private rank badge.
Ranks:
Private:
Responsibilities- Day to Day Guard duty. Assisting the higher ranks when they request it.
Corporal:
Responsibilities- Overseeing those of Private rank and mundane guarding
For Assassins - May be asked to run surveillance on targets.
Sergeant:
Responsibilities- Supervising those of lower rank; if exemplary and displaying high proficiency they will be allowed to take on guardianship of an Apothecary.
Lieutenant:
Responsibilities- Leaders amongst the non-Officers. At this rank it would be fairly easy to become the personal guard to an Apothecary. At this rank Assassins will receive missions to eliminate targets.
Captain:
Responsibilities- Leader(IC Guild Officer Rank) Acts as liaison between the Executors and the lower ranking officers. Can initiate orders and rules in the absence of Executors. Their word counts greatly towards promotions whereas recommendations from other sources will be taken with a grain of salt. Those holding the rank of Captain should be paragons of the Forsaken race, in short patriots. They should also be able to both take orders and delegate to the lower ranks.
Executors / High Executor:
Responsibilities- Supreme Leaders.(IC Guild Officer Rank) These are the overall leaders of the Legion’s division of the military. They receive and distribute orders from Forsaken High Command, if they give an order it should be treated as though Sylvanas herself stepped down from her pedestal and issued it. Keep in mind though that an Executor is subject to the same rules and regulations as the rest of the military, and is subject to being reported just as anyone else is.
Standing Orders:
-Assist the Forsaken populace: If you see a Forsaken in distress aid them to the best of your abilities.
-Protect the interests of the Banshee Queen: This can range from turning away snoops and spies in the Apothecarium to maintaining a civil facade when talking to our allies. I know it’s difficult but please try to -not- kill the elves.
-Working relationships within the Legion: Physical violence and death threats directed towards the Apothecaries and Surgeons will not be tolerated. The Apothecaries and Surgeons are our charges it is our duty to protect them, we are not their parents, it is not our place to correct their misbehaviour. If an Apothecary is out of line then report it. The only exception should be to prevent a situation from escalating or to remove someone from imminent harm.
-Working relationships within the Deathguard: I understand that tempers tend to run high in the guard. To alleviate some of this tension honorable duels between two guards is permissible, however anyone who delivers a deathblow to their fellow guard will be punished.
Promotions and Demotions:
Most Promotions will be due to recommendations from other members of the Legion of Vengeance, or especially meritorious actions taken while on missions or on the battlefield.
In order to get promoted the "Deathguard Information Sheet" must be filled out.
Demotions will be given to anyone found breaking the rules. Minor infractions will result in “extra duty”.
Missions:
A “mission” can take many forms the following are some of the forms a mission may take:
Solo mission - Talk to an Executor out of character to set up a solo mission. These missions will be assessed more harshly as there is no collaboration with other players, the main reason for these missions is that some players can’t play during ‘peak’ times when everyone else is playing. The basic idea is that you would propose a mission to an Executor who would then assign you the mission in character for completion. There are two primary formats for getting a “Mission Complete” making a submission as though your character was submitting an official report, or writing up a short story detailing your mission and what happened. Remember, failure is an option and will not be graded against the overall success or failure of the mission; if your submission is well written then it is entirely possible to earn a rank off of a “failed” mission.
Small group/Duo Mission - Again, contact an Executor to set up/discuss a Mission. These types of missions are ideal for two people who play together frequently and work together well (or at least with compatible animosity/grudging respect). These missions work in much the same way that solo missions do with the exception that you can submit logs of actual RP occurring between the two players in game (Elephant is a handy addon that allows you to create chat logs, it does have a limit to how much it can store so be sure to copy/paste into a document). Of course the other options of official report and a collaborative story are available if that suits your playstyle/play time constraints. An additional option is that you can have someone ranked captain or above sit in while out of character and watch the RP as it unfolds.
It isn’t mandatory that your mission partner be a Deathguard, you are highly encouraged to reach out to the Apothecaries/Surgeons; same goes for Apothecaries and Surgeons reaching out to the Deathguard for assistance with material acquisitions and field work.
Event missions - This one is fairly simple, when someone holds an event attend it for credit. I’ll be asking those who host events to point out Deathguards who perform particularly well or fulfill the role of a guard (i.e. protecting a downed Apothecary, assassins scouting ahead and spotting danger...etc.). Obviously for D&D styled events the rolls dictate how well you do, so poor performance due to poor rolls will not be held against anyone or cause a demotion.
Open Door Policy:
In essence this means that you can bring any grievance in character or out of character to the High Executor (Fluermorte) and I will work to resolve it. If you have any suggestions feel free to talk to me about them.
