So I had a stray thought, it was pretty neat so I fleshed it out a bit more and turned it into an open hypothetical question/scenario.
The scenario is as follows: As you sit at your computer you get an odd sensation; for some reason you are certain something is about to happen and it's going to throw you entirely out of your comfort zone. Call it intuition, call it paranoia; whatever the sensation it's given you a slight advantage. You get five paces to move around to grab three items before it happens. After a brief tugging sensation in your sinuses you blackout, and just as suddenly wake up face up on the ground. You are surrounded by a crowd of confused humans, one of whom is kneeling over you. He's speaking slowly in something eerily close to English. "Hey! Kid! You alright? Do you know where you are? You're at the Three Corners Watchtower."
What did you grab?
Obviously you had items in your pocket and clothes on your back, though strange to an Azerothian they might prove useful. What are these items?
Finding yourself suddenly in a world that while foreign you know a lot about, what would you do? Would you attempt to discover a latent ability or lay low and look for a way home?
I'll be making a post using these questions to make a story as though it were a story writing prompt. Feel free to add your own interpretations! Let's have some fun!

Assuming the three items are the items the most nearby to myself, I'd pick up my phone, my wallet, and... well there isn't much else on my desk but a bottle of water.
However, I'd quickly realize that I get no phone signal in Azeroth and I pretty much screwed that up.

Uhh.. three things? My rings, my glasses (I can't see without my glasses!) and my Nerk.
That's the only important stuff I have nearby. Everything else is in the bedroom.. more then five paces away.

I always carry a knife and Lighter in my pocket and leather boots on my feet... I would grab these three Items.. Scoped .308 Winmag Savage, My bag of ammo and My climbing rope.. all within 5 paces of my desk.

So here's what I have including the clothes on my back and items in those pockets: The things I would most likely grab would be: The knife I keep on my desk (feels like cheating since it's intended use is as a general purpose outdoors tool). Since I would start to laugh at how ridiculous I was being my next two items would be my coffee cup and my notebook, with the intent to go outside and relax.
The stuff on my person: A lighter, chapstick, deck of Tarot cards(yes I carry these in my pocket @_@), and my phone. I would also have an obscene amount of clothing since the art of making a fire in a stove continues to elude me; it would be in the ball park of two pair socks, two pairs of sweat pants, two shirts, a light sweater, a heavy sweater and my scarf.
It would take some pretty compelling evidence to get me to believe I was on Azeroth rather then being the victim of a hoax. After that I'd have to figure out a way to get gold, and then figure out if I had any chance of getting training to do anything. I might join up with the human military while deciding if I wanted to try to get back or stay. Knowing my luck though I'd be Red Shirted before I made a final decision.

Assuming I'm dressed.
Cigarettes and lighter, counting those as one item, my phone, and knife. Basically everything else on or near my desk isn't worth grabbing.

*Glances to her desk*Uh...my desk only has beauty products, my jewelry, and some liquid latex. I guess that means I'd take my nail polish, body lotion (lily flower one!), and makeup bag (the small one of course). I guess I'll try to look presentable when the WTH factor happens.
That really is all I have on my desk. Nothing of real use!

I would take my sword, my Hardanger Fiddle, and Hauberk (Its hiding in the closet right next to me, never know when I'l need it).
You could say that I am prepared, so I would probably check out my area first, since what are the odds that I would magically appear on Azeroth?
Eventually, with a little training, I would go out into the world to be an adventurer, since what is the fun in being a peasant?

Well with in 5 paces of me I got a pencil sharpener..... I would crack that for the razor itself and grab a pencil and embed it too make a weapon razor type of thing (That counts as one item I hope)
My next item that is 5 paces away from me is bunny ears and tail.......... So ya that's a thing from Halloween.....
My next item is obviously my backpack that has matches for when I go home and light my incense (I lose them around the house so I keep them in my bag so I always remember)

Hmm, well I would have to go with the Bat i keep in the corner along with a change of clothes and my phone. I realize i wouldnt have signal in azeroth but I'm sure some gnome or goblin would trade me enough gold to feed myself for a few days to get all the shiny gizmos
